Full Description: Echinopsis Hybrid 'ANTARES' Has a 5-1/2 inch to 6" bloom (14-17cm). Inner petals obovate, dark red with lighter midrib and narrow orange or light red basal stripe. Outer petals slightly paler, with pinkish-purple midstripe. Sepals sometimes entirely pinkish-purple. Filaments dark red to pinkish-red, anthers contrasting cream-colored. Stem growth is semicolumnar, to 3 ½ inches (9 cm) in diameter. Named for the supergiant red star- Antares.Hybridized by Bob Schick.
