Full Description: Species ECHINOCEREUS TRIGLOCHIDIATUS Has abundant bright orange-red blooms 1-1/4" to 2" diameter with yellow or light orange near base and lavender to magenta anthers. Echinocereus triglochidiatus
is also often called by these common names Black-Spine Claret-Cup, Claret-Cup, King's Crown Cactus, Robust Claret-Cup, Rose's Claret-Cup, Rose's Hedgehog, Spineless Hedgehog, White-Spined Claret-Cup
Echinocereus triglochidiatus can be found in a fairly wide habitat range as its requirements are not picky, from Mexico in Chihuahua, Sonora to Arizona & California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah. Growth is cylindrical to 2ft Tall and 6" to 8" in diameter. Grows very easy and pups often to form a large clumping mass when mature. Full blooms of a large mass are a site to see. Likes occasional waterings in warm season and little water in winter, fast draining cactus soil mix is recommended as it doesnt like wet feet. Can grow in containers or the ground and tolerate to lower temps.
NOTE; The plants or pups offered here were garden cultivated and were not removed from there native habitat. Offered currently as a 2-1/2" or larger pup.
