| Full Description: HARRISIA SIMPSONII- is a rare fruiting cactus species with fragrant 4-6" diameter blooms on long 6-8" scaly tubes, nocturnal blooming with a nice fragrance they stay open until late morning, mostly white with pink-marron coloring on the outside petals, turning more pink by morning. Cylindrical in growth with smaller spines. Native to Florida,found on the east coast in mangroves and in coastal thickets and strands.Erect tree like growth. Likes warm full sun weather and hardy to 32 degrees but cannot handle long periods of cold weather. Fruits are about 2" in diameter and yellowish to orange in color. Likes rich well draining soil with a little sand, water well during warm season, semi-dormant in winter and requires very little water. Offered as cuttings 8-10"+ long, roots very easy! |
