| Full Description: HYLOCEREUS TRIGONUS- A species thats hard to find and rarely seen, it produces fruit and is a fragrant blooming Hylocereus. H.Trigonus has an Extra Large bloom thats very fragrant, nocturnal bloom but stays open into late morning, the growth is spiny 3 angled/ribbed. It also produces small pear shaped red fruits that are very tasty! Red on the outside and the pulp is whitish to pink. Needs support to climb a fence, but makes a natural barrier with the spines. This rare plant is rarely if ever offered and i have little background information on it only that it origionates from the Caribian. Same growing medium as Epis but likes shade at the feet and the top growth likes to reach full sun to bloom well.If your coastal it can handle full sun. Blooms all summer, fruits are developed after blooming and ripen by fall. |
