Full Description: ROOTING HORMONE POWDER FORM-Made by GREEN LIGHT (2 oz/56.7 g)this product can be used to speed up root develoment on new Epiphyllum & Aporophyllum cuts or even recent Echinopsis pups separations that separated the xylem-(outer skin). Put a little out on a piece of dry newspaper and imeadiately after making a fresh cut dip the cut end into the HORMONE POWDER.
Many Epiphyllum growers differ on the matter if rooting hormone helps start rooting or not. Some swear by it and 50% say it makes no difference at all. I'm personally in the 50% group that sees no difference with or with out it but some growers have tougher growing conditions than myself. If i was trying to root cuts that were very wide and thick i might use it since it tends to help score the cut end imeadiately, but i can always leave the cutting in a cool dry spot several days to do the same. My weather at my location is fairly warm and dry-(if i dont water) even in winter i get little rain so cuts tend to score fast for me even in winter time. So if your conditions are more extreme than mine like very cold and wet i could see a possible advantage in using this product. What is it? Basically an acid, it will help keep bad bacteria (the ones that can cuase rot) away too. Hey try it, wont harm your fresh cuts in any way, you be the judge.
