Full Description: Species SCHLUMBERGERA OPUNTIOIDES- Is a very rare Schlumbergera species from Brazil. Its only found within a 500km area of in Serra da Mantiqueira, southern Minas Gerais; to north-western Rio de Janeiro (Itatiaia) and eastern São Paulo (Campos do Jordão). Currently listed on the endangered species list. Very rare in collections. The growth is very unusual in that each stem is like a mini opuntia cactus pad but pendant in growth. Blooms range from pink to purple depending on temperature during budding. Roots easy! larger plants will take simular care as other Schlumbergera but with these exceptions; Keep above 60 degrees as a houseplant during winter. Likes moist soil but no wet feet so excellent drainage is a must. Recommended for advanced growers only.

The origonal mother plant was obtained from a very old collection and all vegitive copies of this plant came from it.(NOTE; THIS PLANT WAS GARDEN CULTIVATED AND WAS NOT REMOVED FROM ITS NATIVE HABITAT).

Due to the rarity of this plant it can only be offered to destinations within the U.S. at this time. Offered as a 3-6" tall above the soil line rooted cutting. Growth is segmented and very small in habit.
