| Full Description: HYLOCEREUS UNDATUS X-' VIETNAMESE RED'- Imported from Vietnam-Is self polinating and is the same variety sold in markets through out Vietnam. Huge red fleshed fruit over 1 lbs to 1-1/2 lbs. Very fertile this variety needs little help in fact you may want to remove some fruit on each branch to increase the remaining ones size, 2 lb fruit is easily possible with this variety. As its very fertile you will only get smaller fruit if you leave too many on one stem,each stem can get from one to a dozen or more.This one is sweet and juicy, great for fresh fruit smoothies too.Huge nocturnal blooms over 14" across. Same growing medium as Epis but likes shade at the feet and the top growth likes to reach full sun to bloom well.If your coastal it can handle full sun. Blooms all summer, fruits are developed after blooming and ripen around fall. HYLOCEREUS UNDATUS X -VIETNAMESE RED an easy to grow Hylocereus that grows well with almost no spotting and is a reliable profuse bloomer/fruit producer, usually blooms mid to late summer-likes the heat, fruit is ripe by fall. Can get smaller fruit sets off season depending on the weather conditions. |
