The Dendrobium genus is prolific and diverse, comprising some one hundred species, which vary greatly in size and shape. There are also several amazing hybrids. Dendrobium orchids are often called "Phalaenopsis type" because their flowers resemble those of the Phalaenopsis variety. Phalaenopsis type are evergreen, most grow the evergreen varieties. Other varieties of Dendrobiums are decidious and shed their leaves in the fall and winter. Dendrobiums are also epiphytes in Nature, (i.e. - they grow on trees) The range of where there species can be found is wide ranging and at many elevations, so not all Dendrobiums have the same exact care requirements. The habitat extends from India in the west, to Japan in the north, Australia and New Zealand in the South, and ranges eastward to include most of the Pacific Islands. Within this huge region, Dendrobium species are found from sea level to about 12,000 feet (3660 m). Dendrobiums are commonly used as cut flowers because of their sturdy stems and distinctive coloring.

Dendrobium Unknown or NOID section
Post your unknown Dendrobium(s) here, other members who have the same plant can recognize and maybe ID it for you. At the least maybe give you a few leads to follow up on. With many Dendrobium species & hybrids, and growing it can get confusing.
Note; Besides the term UNKNOWN or UNK for short NOID is also commonly used which means NO IDENTIFICATION OR NO ID. If posting here descriptions are great! But pictures are best. Not sure how to attach pictures? Just ask many of the friendly Epi Cacti Forum members here they will be happy to help you! Or PM one of the forum moderators.
Other members who have the same Dendrobium plant can hopefully recognize and maybe ID it for you.
