New shade project

Postby Stephen » Thu May 12, 2011 5:46 pm

This spring I added this 8x12 shade structure to the north side of my deck. It gets a full dose of morning sunshine and full shade from the house in mid afternoon. It has a lattice roof set on treated lumber supports. Plants are set in custom made holders to prevent swinging in the wind which often blows at +30mph. The green fabric on the east and west sides help to slow the gusts down a lot. You can see the greenhouse in the background.
