SCHLUMBERGERA also commonly called (Thanksgiving or Christmas CACTUS)Schlumbergera are just as easy to grow as Epiphyllums and are very profuse bloomers. Their vivid colored blooms are smaller than Epis but just as spectacular! They can even bloom well if cared for inside as house plants too. They tend to bloom in the winter months when Epis go semi-dormant and daylight gets down to 8-10 hours a day or less. Early bloomers are called 'Thanksgiving Cactus' later bloomers 'Christmas Cactus'. You will also find a few varieties of Easter Cactus or (Rhipsalidopsis and Hatiora) offered, these have simular requirements but bloom in spring time.
These ship as unrooted branch segments 4-6”+ long , each branch will have at least 3 individual stem segments 1” to 2”+ long. There stems tend to be thinner than Epis so in order to ship them to you in the best condition we send a small stem branch with 3 segments minimum. Each segment on the branch can then be separated and rooted. Occasionally we may also have established plants small up to larger sizes available. Sorry but at this time any plants with roots can only be shipped within the U.S. its territories, CAN., & P.R. But cuttings can be shipped to almost all locations.
With so many varieties and more added every day heres an easy to use search box for your convienance to find varieties on the Mattslandscape.com website. Dont see what your looking for? Just ask us as we grow more than whats listed here.
